One of the sunniest May days with 15.1 h of bright sunshine under an area of high pressure. The temperature rose to 21.8 C with little cloud in the sky.
One of the wettest May days - 31.6 mm of rain fell and wind gusted to 28 knots. This was caused by an area of low pressure that tracked eastwards along the English Channel.
