Aqua-planet soil and vegetation specifications

The UM will still look for specifications of soil and vegetation types etc, regardless of the land-sea mask, so these ancillary files must still be provided. Note that the soil and vegetation files provided from this page are compatible with the MOSES surface exchange scheme, so this option must be selected in the UMUI. This is necessary to make the model work, although there will of course be no land-surface processes occurring in an aqua-planet integration.

The soil type file provided in the tar file is called aqua.soil

The vegetation type file provided in the tar file is called aqua.veg

The soil moisture file provided in the tar file is called aqua.smow

The deep soil temperature file is called aqua.slt
