Fixing the solar cycle

    To simplify the forcing of the aqua-planet integration, it is usual to fix the solar forcing to an equinoctial value (e.g. 19th of March). This requires some small changes to the radiation code which are included in the modification set "fixsun.mar19". The version included in the tar file is set up for vn4.4 of the UM. Add this modification set to the list of modifications for the model in the UMUI.

    This modset can be easily adapted to fix the solar radiation to any day of the year. There are two calls to the subroutine SOLPOS, with the day number set to 79 (which is the 19th of March in a 360 day calendar). This number can be changed to any other day, but make sure that BOTH calls to SOLPOS are changed.
