Problem based learning in Meteorology
These pages provide access to other academics teaching Meteorology at university level who wish to incorporate Problem Based Learning approaches into their teaching. The materials presented here have been developed by the University of Reading as part of a joint fieldcourse taught by the Universities of Reading and Leeds. PBL activity 1 - launching an ozonesonde
In this activity, students are asked to write a project proposal about when to launch an ozonesonde to maximise its scientific value. The document contains background information useful for students and instructions for students to complete the activity.PBL activity 2 - observing system design
In this activity, students are asked to design a new climate observing station on the Isle of Arran based on their experience on a residential fieldcourse.
