David Ferreira, who spent 10 years working in John Marshall's group at MIT, was appointed as a new lecturer, increasing dramatically the number of oceanographers in the Department! Welcome David.

I am excited, along my co-investigators Till Kuhlbrodt, David Ferreira and Jonathan Gregory to have been awarded a NERC standard grant on a project called INSPECT: Improving simple climate models through a traceable and process-based analysis of ocean heat uptake in AOGCMs and observations. Interviews led us to offer the associated postdoctoral research position to Markus Huber, to join us early 2014.
