The APE Workshop took place in the Department of Meteorology at
The University of Reading, UK on 20-22 April 2005.
The overall aims of the workshop were to discuss diagnostics from the model intercomparison,
sensitivity studies in individual models, and plans for publications and future work,
including the possibility of a future workshop.
The APE workshop is in the week preceding the 2005 General Assembly of the
European Geophysical Union,
in Vienna, Austria, 24-29 April 2005.
Note that the abstract deadline for that meeting was 21 January.
Registration
We request that all delegates
register
to attend the workshop and to reserve accommodation.
Although APE has no central funding, buffet lunches and refreshments during
the workshop will be sponsored by
CGAM,
so no registration fee is required.
We are assuming that groups will fund their own travel and hotel accommodation in
Reading. 20 single rooms have been reserved at the University's conference-centre,
though more rooms may be available, and several hotels are situated close to the
University, within walking distance of the Department of Meteorology.
More details are available on the online
registration form.
Location
Both the Department of Meteorology and the conference-centre (accommodation) are situated on the Whiteknights campus
of the University, 2km south-east of the centre of Reading.
Maps are available online for
the Department of Meteorology,
the Whiteknights campus and
its surrounding area in Reading.
Reading is easily reached from London's Heathrow airport by a regular Railair Link
coach service, and from Gatwick and other airports by train. The University is a
short journey from Reading Station by taxi or bus.
