- Simon Rowell NERC CASE studentship with Hiscox Catastrophe Modeling Company: The role of AEW variability and the large-scale environment on Atlantic Hurricanes – PhD Industry CASE Studentship for improving understanding of the physical processes that enhance and suppress hurricane development associated with African Easterly Waves and their interaction with the large-scale environment with a view to creating an enhanced seasonal forecast scheme for Atlantic Tropical Cyclones, for the wider scientific and business community. Simon is co-supervised by Dr Kevin Hodges and Dr Cornforth from UoR and Dr RIchard Dixon and Dr Matt Swann from Hiscox Catastrophe Modelling Company. Completes 2014
