Ozone in CMIP5

The ozone concentrations used in CMIP5 are not consistent across models. In addition to models using interative chemistr y schemes, a range of prescribed data sets have been used. Depending on your region of interest, the ozone in the models can look quite different, and can sometimes explain why some models look like outliers in climate metrics. Differences in ozone are particularly pronounced for my region of interest: the Southern Hemisphere polar lower stratosphere:

75-90S SON mean ozone concentrations at 50hPa, relative to 1900 values. Wilcox and Charlton-Perez (2013).
