Vorticity of vertical normal modes
Below is plotted the vorticity projected onto the first eight vertical normal modes, and the structure of the mode itself.
Note that as for the normal mode PV calculation, vorticity is scaled with exp -z/H before the projection, where z is height above the ground and H is the scale height = 7115 m.
