Land Surface Data Assimilation at the Met Office (pdf) We will present an overview of how land surface analyses are produced and their importance in NWP at both global and regional scales.Recently a new Kalman Filter has been developed for the operational models and this will be described, along with latest experiments to improve performance. Finally we will give an outlook on the use of new satellite data and other planned updates. |
