Specific Humidity

In bl_ic7a.f, the gradient in specific humidity (for elevation classes) is calculated from boundary characteristics:

qgrad=(q(i,BL_LEVELS)-q(i,1))/bldepth

I performed simulations using a fixed SH gradient obtained from the MAR CTL runs MARv2_MIROC5-histo_1980-1999_01m_qq.nc. The average value (over all months) calculated and added to code:

qgrad = -2.5628673778195577e-07

Assessment

The differences are not obviously significant between runs.
