Royal Society role for university scientist 2 Dec 2009 By Reading Post A scientist at The University of Reading has been appointed as a Royal Society University Research Fellow. Dr Paul Williams from the university's Department of Meteorology was given the appointment by the country's national academy of science. The scheme aims to provide outstanding scientists who have the potential to become leaders in their field. In October, Dr Williams started working on a five-year project to improve climate models applying techniques that have been successful in weather forecasting. Dr Williams said: "I am delighted to be receiving this accolade from the Royal Society, and I look forward to unlocking some of the secrets of our climate in the coming years."
