WEATHER-ologist Denis Quaid has his global warming warnings ignored until the Gulf Stream suddenly collapses. Oh no! Thank Hollywood for Industrial Light and Magic who spectacularly freeze New York in an ice cube and imagine Earth from space as three massive storms completely take out life as we know it. Ludicrous in parts, gripping in others and scientifically really very accurate, according to Dr Paul Williams, Gulf Stream switch-off specialist at the University of Reading. (Don't panic, there's a very slim chance this will actually happen.)
