Valerio Lucarini's Home Page

Valerio Lucarini is Lecturer in Meteorology and Mathematics at the University of Reading (Reading, UK) since August 2009. He is affiliated with both the Department of Meterology and the Department of Mathematics. He is also associated to the Walker Institute for Climate System Research. This constitutes a wonderful environment for research and teaching in themes related to Complexity, Climate, Environment. Previously, Valerio was Assistant Professor of Earth System Physics (ADGB group) at the University of Bologna (Bologna, Italy).

Valerio has been given the Oustanding Young Scientist Award 2010 by the European Geosciences Union! See the EGU page.

ERC Grant

Valerio has been awarded a 1.4 Meuro Starting Investigator Grant by the European Research Council for the project Thermodynamics of the Climate System - NAMASTE.

NAMASTE will kick-off on September 1 2010 and will last for 5 years. It is going to be a huge opportunity for scientific advances on themes ranging from climate dynamics to non-equilibrium thermodynamics and statistical mechanics. NAMASTE will host events of scientific dissemination and training, such as workshops, summer schools, conferences, and will fund several new positions at post-doctoral level. Collaborations are welcome and encouraged.
