Evaluation of hybrid model (UM10.2 version of hybrid)

There are two main conclusions to Colin Jones's evaluation for HCCP report

  1. Hybrid (N216<->N96) produces simulation quality very close to the hi-resolution model (N216)

Absolute annual mean TOA Outgoing Longwave Radiation (left column) and bias in TOA OLR against CERES observations (right column)

  2. Little difference between N216 and N96 for aerosol and chemistry

DJF means of Aerosol Optical depth

    N216

    N96

    Snr

A lot of chemistry and aerosol
    is missing from Snr

    Jnr
