Current work

I am currently assessing the differences between the standard resolution Met Office model HadGEM and the high resolution model HiGEM. The results as they come in are on the Plots page.
Key findings so far:

• In DJF HadGEM and HiGEM have an eastward shift in the Azores High compared to ERA-40. This is not present in HiGAM which looks more similar to ERA-40.
  
  
• In JJA the leading EOF in HiGAM is also more like the leading EOF in ERA-40.
