Hi all,

Last night was a lot of fun, it was great to see so many of you there, whether in person or online! We had a lot of fun messing around putting the panto together, and it was amazing to see it all come together.

We also just wanted to thank everyone that helped with the organising of the event - in particular, a massive thanks to Joy as event coordinator, and also for hanging around late in Met so that we could host the after party! Also we would like to thank Dana and Kathryn for their help with room booking and event approval, and to Chris, Keith, and Jon for organising the amazing interval acts. Thanks again to Jon for hosting the after party as DJ Shonk!

If you missed the panto last night/want to watch our terrible acting and singing again, we will be sending out the link to all the videos on YouTube later today.

That's all from us, we hope you all have a wonderful Christmas break!

Best wishes,
Team panto 2021

Subject: [Met-all] Panto thanks

Dear all,

A huge thank you to everyone involved in the Met department’s first hybrid Panto, where story-time with Wendy Neale took us on a highly enjoyable tale of QUEEN developing ‘A Semi-Lagrangian Rhapsody’. The show was a great success, well done to all!  There was stunning acting (plaudits particularly for the scene with an inconsolable Keith Shine), brilliantly creative songs, and some very funny bloopers, enjoyed by everyone in the audience and at home.

Thanks to everyone involved in the various aspects of putting on the show, especially to Charlie, Hannah, Natalie, and Isabel for leading the event coordination. The enormous amount of work you have all put in is hugely appreciated, especially in continued difficult circumstances, and what you’ve all achieved is such a big contribution to help keep our Met community thriving. Thanks also to our admin team, including Dana and Kathryn for helping with sorting out building/room access, Chris Holloway and Keith Shine for organising the staff interval singing (I still can’t get that song out of my head!), and to Jon Shonk for Mr Mets.

A reminder that there are carols and mince pies after WCD today. Have a lovely Christmas break everybody!

Merry best wishes,

Joy and Sue
