HERTZ

HERTZ is a R&D project lead by Juliet Robson that allows the inaudible sound of our planet and the cosmos to be experienced through sight and touch. This project has two aims:

The first is to take the resonance of stars, or star song, and use the tone and amplitude of each start to create chladni patterns using a chladni plate.

The second is to use natural infrasound measurements (Sound waves below the range of human hearing) that are produced by volcanos and glaciers etc. These infrasound waves are used to modulate a soundwave that can be played through a sub woofer, and a silent sub woofer. Silent sub woofers can be attached to chairs to make them vibrate. Thus, allowing a participent to experience infrasound produced by our planet.
