Current Postdoctoral & graduate student supervision

  • Dr Andrew Prata is a PDRA and is co-supervised by Prof. Keith Shine and Dr Emma Irvine. Andrew is working on developing a tool for calculation along-flight volcanic ash dosage.
  • Dr Ben Crawford is a PDRA on the wildfire project and is co-supervised by Dr Andrew Charlton-Perez. Ben works on developing a new early-warning system for predicting wildfire events in Chile.
  • Dr Cheikh Mbengue is a PDRA based in Oxford and co-supervised by Dr Tim Woolings. Cheikh works on the SummerTIME project.
  • Kaja Misczewska is a first year PhD student co-supervised by Dr Paul Agnew (Met Office) and Dr Marion Mittermaier (Met Office). Kaja's project is to improve the accuracy of air quality forecasts
  • Matt Priestley is a second year PhD student co-supervised by Prof. Len Shaffrey, Prof. Joaquim Pinto and Alexandros Georgiadis (Aon Benfield). Matt's project is on storm clustering over Europe.
  • Kate Fradley is a third year PhD student co-supervised by Prof. Maarten Ambaum. Kate's project is to improve forecasts of cold winters in the UK. She is part of the PURE-RACER project.
  • Chris Webber is a fourth year PhD student co-supervised by Professor Bill Collins. Chris is working on Linking pollution, meteorology and climate change.
