PhD Year 4

Research Project:

  • The Role of the Asian Summer Monsoon in European Summer Climate Variability

Supervisors

  • My PhD project is looking at teleconnections between the Asian summer monsoon/tropical precipitation and European summer weather, and the representation of these teleconnections in seasonal forecast models. This is part of the SummerTIME project, a NERC-funded project investigating the drivers of European summer climate variability involving the University of Reading, the University of Oxford, the Met Office and ECMWF. I am supervised by Prof. Steve Woolnough, Dr. Laura Baker, Dr. Stephanie Johnson (now working at the ECMWF) and Dr. Antje Weisheimer (University of Oxford/ECMWF).
