    Research Interests:

    • Orographic gravity wave drag in the atmosphere and its parametrization
    • Oceanic turbulence, with a special focus on Langmuir circulations
    • Interfaces between turbulent and non-turbulent flow

    Postdoctoral & graduate student supervision

    • Holly Turner (PhD student, co-supervised with Prof. John Methven and Dr. Simon Vosper). Working in collaboration with the UK Met Office, we aim to improve the orographic drag parametrization of the Unified Model, by incorporating missing effects of vertical wind shear.
