National Science Week Schools Open Day

Date: Wednesday 30th March 2011, 10am-3pm

How do we predict future weather and climate?

Many of us are aware of weather and climate predictions but, how much do you know about the methods used to create these predictions?

We'll introduce some of the methods we use - including a radiosonde launch, taking measurements at our atmospheric observatory and an interactive demonstration of how a simple climate model works. Come along and be part of our human computer!

The day is aimed at local school students, aged 14-16 yrs
