Welcome to the Volcanic Dosage And Risk Tool (VDART)
This questionnaire has been designed to understand how aviation industry stakeholders use scientific information to make decisions when responding to a volcanic eruption event.
VDART is a demonstration tool that shows how ensemble-based forecasts of ash concentration and dosage can be used to make fast and robust flight-planning decisions.
The tool was developed in collaboration and consultation with aviation industry regulators, operators, engine manufacturers and the UK Met Office and takes advantage of interactive data visualisation to communicate uncertainty information.
