Research themes

The group is actively involved in research in several aspects of boundary layer meteorology using analytical, numerical and experimental methods.

Current research projects fall broadly under the following themes:

• Urban meteorology
• Air-sea interaction
• Orographic processes
• Mesoscale processes

We have close links with the Joint Centre for Mesoscale Meteorology (JCMM), NCAS Weather and the UK Met Office.

In the last few years the research has been mainly funded by NERC, EPSRC, the European Commission, DERA and the Leverhulme Trust.
