Environmental Risks to the Aviation Industry




The University of Reading is world-renowned for pioneering research on weather & climate. This aviation focussed event will highlight the latest scientific research of high relevance to the aviation industry. The event will offer the opportunity to debate with peers, policy makers and academics some of the most important concerns that the aviation industry faces in terms of environmental risks and operational effectiveness.

The event will explore the following themes:

  • Volcanic ash clouds: How would a major volcanic eruption in the future affect aviation?
  • Climate change: How will climate change affect the aviation industry and vice-versa?
